Mayor Ceriello led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
A Motion to open the Public Meeting was made by Trustee Williams, seconded by Deputy Mayor D’Angelo, and called to order by Mayor Ceriello at 7:35 pm and approved by all.
MINUTES
A motion to approve the minutes for January 10, 2024, Board of Trustees meeting was made by Mayor Ceriello, seconded by Trustee Williams, and approved by all.
MAYOR’S REPORT
The Mayor attended a meeting regarding the recent crimes in Flower Hill. Nassau County Police Commissioner, Patrick Ryder, provided the following suggestions to increase home safety: home alarm, Ring video camera, locking all doors/windows, additional outside lighting and dogs. In addition, locking car doors at night and keeping car keys out of sight in the home. The Mayor announced that the Village will be installing license plate readers at all sixth entrances. After a lengthy discussion with residents, the Mayor concluded that he will consider the idea of hiring private security in the next coming months following careful review of statistical information received from other Villages and the sixth precinct.
NEW BUSINESS
· The Mayor made a motion to engage D&B Engineers and Architects to provide 2024 Stormwater Management Program Services up to amount of $15,800, seconded by Deputy Mayor D’Angelo and approved by all.
· The Mayor approved the SCA Fair to be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9 am to 6 pm, with a rain date of May 5th on the Munsey Park School Field. The Village will continue to place No Parking signs on the designated Munsey Park streets the day of the affair.
· JUSTICE REPORT: The Monthly Justice Report for January 2024 notes total fines assessed in the amount of $1,248.
· BUILDING REPORT: The Building Report notes that between June 1, 2023 to February 8, 2024 a total of 99 permits have been issued totaling $120,443 in Building Permit Fees.
· POLICE REPORT: The Police Report for January 2024 notes no Burglary-Residence, no Burglary-Business, no Robberies, no Larceny-Auto incident, no Larceny (other than auto), no Criminal Mischief incidents and a total of 26 summonses (25 Movers and 1 Parkers).
Motion to close the Board of Trustees Public Meeting was made by Mayor Ceriello, seconded by Trustee Williams and unanimously approved at 9:09 pm.
