Mayor Ceriello led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
A Motion to Open the Public Meeting was made by Mayor Ceriello, seconded by Deputy Mayor D’Angelo, and called to Order at 7:45 pm.
MINUTES
A motion to approve the minutes for the June 12, 2023, Board of Trustees meeting was made by Mayor Ceriello, Seconded by Trustee LiCalzi and approved by all.
15 Strickland Place - Application for regrading of year yard
Mayor Ceriello made a motion to approve the regrading application for 15 Strickland Place on consideration that the plan be resubmitted to reflect a reduction in height of the regrading by the back wall by one foot, and that the wall be landscaped and properly maintained, seconded by Deputy Mayor D’Angelo, and approved by all.
Commercial Application – Artlet’s Café
Mayor Ceriello made a motion to approve Artlet’s Café’s commercial application for “Special Use” to reflect the change from Retail to Restaurant, seconded by Trustee LiCalzi and approved by all.
222 Trumbull Road – Rawat
Mayor Ceriello conditionally approved the permanent basketball hoop at 222 Trumbull Road, a letter from Rawat’s neighbor (Fraiser) must be received at Village Hall stating that they are in agreement with the specified location.
Jimmy’s Run
Mayor Ceriello made a motion to approve Jimmy’s run which will take place on Sunday, November 12, 2023, seconded by Deputy Mayor D’Angelo and approved by all. The Run will start at Mary Jane Davies Park, onto Plandome Road up Park Ave to Morse Lane, right turn onto Morse Lane right turn onto Hunt Lane past Munsey Park School, right turn onto Manhasset Woods Road to Park Ave., left turn onto Park Ave. and finish at Manhasset Train Station. Roads that will need to be closed: Plandome Rd. between Memorial Place and Park Ave., Park Ave., Morse Lane, Hunt Lane, Manhasset Woods Road from Hunt Lane to Park Ave. The race will start at 10:00 AM and end at 10:45 AM.
MLFD
The Board unanimously declined to have hydrant markings painted on the Village streets in front of fire hydrants.
Franchise Fees
Great Neck North Shore Cable Commission reported that the cable franchise renewal negotiations with Altice and Verizon are at a standstill and have been placed on hold since the end of June. Currently, the Village receives a 3% franchise fee which generated $36,446 in revenue for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2023.
Village Hall Renovations
Mayor Ceriello reported that the drywells have been installed at Village Hall and the windows have been ordered. A DASNY grant of $50,000 will help offset some of the costs of this renovation.
Financial Report
Deputy Mayor D’Angelo reported that the highlighted non-recurring costs this month were for various tree maintenance projects, drywell installation and tax refunds to Maidenbaum. The Building Report notes that between June 1, 2023, to September 7, 2023, a total of 46 permits have been issued totaling $45,096 in Building Permit Fees.
Public Safety
The Police Report for July 2023 notes one Burglary-Residence, no Burglary-Business, no Robberies, no Larceny-Auto incident, one Larceny (other than auto), no Criminal Mischief incidents and a total of 50 summonses (42 Movers and 8 Parkers). The Monthly Justice Report for May and July 2023 notes total fines assessed in the amount of $3,830.
Motion to close the Board of Trustees Public Meeting was made by Mayor Ceriello seconded by Trustee LiCalzi and approved by all at 8:32 PM.
