OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.

The pledge of Allegiance – said by all.

The Mayor requested a moment of silence for all those affected by the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

TRUSTEE APPOINTMENT

The Mayor presented Trustee Patrick Hance’s letter of resignation.  Patrick Hance resigned from the Board of Trustees citing time constraints due to new business endeavors. The Mayor introduced Hance’s replacement, Antonio D’Angelo.  The Mayor read Mr. D’Angelo’s bio.  Mr. D’Angelo served on the Village Architectural Review Board. Antonio is a Partner in the New York office of Deloitte Tax LLP and is the U.S. National Tax Managing Partner of the Consumer & Industrial Products Industry. Antonio has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting with extensive experience serving large multinational public and privately held companies. Antonio is a Certified Public Accountant (NY) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Antonio has an undergraduate degree from Hofstra University and a master of taxation from St. John’s University. Antonio resides on Abbey Road with his wife and three children. Following, the Mayor appointed Mr. D’Angelo as Trustee and administered the Oath of Office. 

ELECTION INSPECTORS

Edgar Fitzsimons, Linda Fitzsimons and Kathryn McDonald were approved as election inspectors for the March 20, 2018 election.  

INTRODUCTION OF LOCAL LAW 1 -2018

Robert Morici, Village Attorney, introduced Local Law 1 -2018 for the Tax Levy Override which will be voted on at the next Village meeting on March 14, 2018.

SURVEY PROPOSAL FOR HAWTHORNE/EAKINS ROAD

Trustee Noone updated the Board on the Hawthorne Place and Eakins Road road improvement project.  Motion to engage with Russell H. Lewis Company for a total of $14,000 to survey the existing roadway (Hawthorne/Eakins Road) made by Trustee Noone, seconded by Mayor DeMento and confirmed by all.  Trustee Noone explained that staking out the roadway will begin the week of February 11, 2018.  She stated that residents have been notified of the plan and construction will begin in the spring. 

Questions were taken from the following residents:

  • Mr. Nicolaides (295 Park Avenue)
  • Ms. Susan Auriemma (36 Burnham Place)
  • Ms. Deborah Miller (6 Sargent Place)

Motion to go into executive session to discuss a personnel matter with regard to a particular person was made by Mayor DeMento, seconded by Trustee Noone and confirmed by all.

Motion to come out of executive session made by Mayor DeMento, seconded by Trustee Noone and confirmed by all.

Motion to close the public meeting made by Trustee Ceriello, seconded by Trustee Noone and confirmed by all at 8:17 PM.
